We’re thrilled to be part of the global launch of virtual reality mobile browser Layar. This is one of those things you need to see to truly appreciate. The Layar mobile app uses your camera’s video camera and layers on listings from Trulia on top of what you see on the screen. You just point your camera’s phone and browse around for homes for sale right where you’re standing. Like I said in the title, that is so cool!
Layar has been getting some good buzz with their US launch (see here, here and here) and we’re proud to be involved with their efforts. It’s available in the Google Android AppStore today and Layar is targeting the Apple App Store next for all you iPhone lovers.
As real estate search becomes more mobile, this is the kind of information and experience that users will find useful. We’re excited to bring this innovation to our users and on behalf of our real estate partners. Congratulations to the Layar team for a successful launch!

Congratulations with your Layar! A few months ago Funda was the launching partner in the Netherlands for Layar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b64_16K2e08
We are happy to see that our American collegues are as excited as we are about this great tool. We have put quite some time in getting the right user interface on Layar for real estate.
The only thing we need now is more users with the right phone :-). Let’s keep in touch about our experiences with Layar.
Are you going to push Layar through your website towards consumers or agents? I am interested to hear more about it.

I met the Funda team at the Inman Real Estate Connect conference, I really enjoyed our conversation and hearing about your company. Congrats on your Funda Layer, it is also very cool and the video is great.
