Twitter Co-founder Biz Stone has put his cool little Berkeley Hills home located at 1409 Greenwood Terrace for sale priced at $575,000 - listed by Trulia Pro Melody Hultgren of McGuire Real Estate. He actually tweeted about selling his Wurster cottage over the weekend but did not specify why he was selling.
Generally speaking, it’s best for home sellers not to make their home selling motivations known to potential home buyers as they can lose some leverage during negotiations. But in Biz’s case, I don’t think it would matter as much. His home was designed by famous local Northern California architect William Wurster who used his signature style of openness and natural light when designing the home. That’s pretty cool all by itself. There is also something special about buying a famous persons home - Biz Stone + Twitter = kinda famous. Whoever purchases it will have bragging rights that they bought the home of the Twitter Co-Founder - pretty cool.
According to Gawker,
“Living in such a small place may have been a necessary sacrifice when Stone, a sometime writer, was churning out such literary achievements as “Who Let the Blogs Out?” and “Genius Strategies for Instant Web Content,” works in which he earned the right to call this a “poet’s cottage.”
But now that Stone has empowered the world to write beautiful poetry, 140 characters at a time, it’s time to move on. Aspiring artists/blog tool makers now have their chance to snatch up Stone’s tidy home base.”
According to the Sillicon Valley Insider,
“Why is Biz moving? Don’t know. But according to Google Maps
, Biz’s commute to Twitter’s San Francisco office — a mere 10 mile drive — can take as long as an hour and 10 minutes in traffic.
Considering how dangerous it is to text and drive
, that’s a long way!”
So, if you’re looking for a 2 bedroom 2 bath home in the Berkeley Hills, North Berkeley/ Kensington area under $600,000, this home may be perfect for you. Please let us know if you plan on seeing it or buying it. Good luck Biz!
