Are you targeting one of the fastest-growing groups of home owners?
While DINKs (Double Income No Kids) have long been thought of as one of the primary home buying targets, the market is shifting. There’s another group of prospective buyers that agents should be paying attention to. According to the New York Times, 45% of 2008 New Jersey condo buyers were women with income, no kids - otherwise known as WINKS.
And it’s not just condos. WINKs represented 21 percent of all New Jersey buyers last year, up from 14 percent the year before. National studies show that the number of unmarried women buying housing of any type increased 20 percent over the past decade.
This is a market segment that will clearly continue to grow. According to Harvard’s Joint Center for Housing Studies, persons living alone are expected to account for 36 percent of household growth between 2010 and 2020. Lots of opportunity for years to come!

Katie,
Thanks for validating our suspicions about this matter.
Greg and I believe that we will help 10 -12 single girls buy real estate, before December.
We kicked off a 2Q campaign, yesterday!
Trulia rocks!
