Thanks for that info, I will remind our agents how they should utilize Trulia more due to your popularity here in Chicago :p Aren’t the founders from here?

I am shocked that Las Vegas didn’t make the top 10 as we had an increase in closings compared to 2006 and 2007.

Surprised that Austin got more searches than Boston, which did not make the top 10. Can you reveal anything about Boston searches, or frequency of questions submitted by buyers and sellers from Greater Boston / Massachusetts?

Cool data. I wonder, what is it that these areas have working for them here on Trulia - or in general - that helped them achieve their respective rankings? Would be great to get a more detailed breakdown of the searches or result types these searches provided.

Interesting stuff. I also just came across a recent survey that asked people where they would live if they could live anywhere, and the results are pretty interesting. Check it out: http://www.realityonrealty.com/?p=843

I agree that this data is very cool and it’s interesting to see how it changes over time.

@Tony - Las Vegas ranked #16 for all of 2008
@RealEstateCafe - Boston came in at #20 for the year, Dallas just edged it out for the 19th position.

If there is interest we can publish this data on a more frequent basis and we can see the trends, movers and shakers.
