Friday’s deep thoughts by Trulia Employee #48
Sure the market isn’t great right now, but it’s been worse right?
Real Estate agents are in a constant proving ground. They are meeting and overcoming goals. Exceeding expectations, training, strategizing, studying, changing, adapting.
I was listening to a David Allen CD and he said “We are constantly in motion trying find better ways of doing stuff” and for some reason all I could think about is all the super star agents I know who personify this statement.
In my previous life working for MLS (6 years at MLSlistings Inc)
we setup up a training session and brought in a guest speaker for the employees. The session was called “Day in the life of an agent” the goal was to give each and every employee a true and accurate perspective. This would help the employees better understand and deliver for their loyal customers. And that is exactly what it did.
The speaker shared how he first got started in Real Estate, how everyone told him not to. How the market was tough and nearly impossible to make enough money to eat. He talked about how he struggled for the first three years and then how he made it. After sharing his inspirational story, he changed gears and talked about the day to day. How each day was a challenge. He clearly communicated each one of his points through a story.
Every agent has a different yet inspirational story. At a sales conference in Florida I saw an Olympic gold medalist speak about what is was like to train and face a difficult challenge. To struggle and to overcome. He told his story.
While writing this post and watching the Olympics I realized there are subtle similarities in Real Estate and the Olympics.
Anyways, what’s your story? Trulia wants to know. Share a true story with us.
