Trulia Voices

Trulia Voices is officially one year old! (…and one day to be precise… lets not start hiding our age just yet!)

Trulia Voices‘ purpose in life is to facilitate communication between agents, consumers and real estate enthusiasts so they can discuss about everything real estate related and help each other make better informed real estate decisions. We are truly happy with everything we have achieved in our first year! With more than 30 thousand members contributing thousands of questions and answers every day Trulia Voices has become one of the most vibrant communities and an invaluable source of real estate knowledge enhancing consumers and agents lives across the country (check out our video testimonials and you will see it for yourself! NY, SF)

To celebrate this milestone we ‘d like to reward some of our ‘Most Valuable Players’ who throughout our fist year have contributed significant amount of content, have been getting consistently good feedback for the advice they are providing and have contacted us in several occasions with feedback on how we can provide an even better service.

And the winners are (drum roll please!):

The ‘Most Valuable Players’ or ‘Marvelous Voices Participants’ or ‘Major Voices Personas’ (ok, will stop here, even though it is fun) will have a MVP badge on their profile, so other members can easily identify them, will be eligible to product sneak peaks and discounts, ability to use products before made available to the larger audience and provide input on product development. They will also be receiving a little something from Trulia very soon as a way to further show them our appreciation.

Thank YOU MVPs and everyone else who is making Trulia Voices one of the best places to be!

Congrats on the one-year mark, but …

I realize I’m raining on the parade, but answering the most questions doesn’t necessarily make someone the most valuable unless the goal is quantity and not quality. Someone recently asked about Tucson and got responses from around the country asking why they’re not looking in their market. Real helpful stuff.

I’m indicting the whole for the sins of the few but it makes absolutely no sense for agents to be answering questions about markets hundreds or thousands of miles away from their own backyard.

As I’ve said a hundred times (and once again to Rudy this morning) … stop counting the number of answers and see who still contributes. To me, that’s a more pure method of finding out who’s interested in helping the public at large.

P.S. One of the agents above has more “useful” answers than total answers. How is that possible?

    Hey Jonathan,

Glad to see you on the trulia blog!

There were several criteria taken in consideration to combine this list; number of contributions being just one of them. The members awarded have been contributing throughout the first year of Trulia Voices, have been getting consistently good feedback for the advice they are providing and have contacted us in several occasions with feedback on how we can provide an even better service.

The number of useful answers shows you the number of votes (aka TU) that members gave to your answers, so it can be larger than the number of answers.

The location topic is a very interesting one and we are looking on different solutions. I would love to have a chat with you on that if you have some time 
