Weakening economy got you down? Does the slowing job market have you rethinking your career path? This morning CNN Money launched a cool gallery via Fortune Small Business called, “100 Best Places to Live and Launch”, a list of the 100 best cities, including Bellevue, Washington, Georgetown, Texas, Buford, Georgia, Marina del Rey, California and Bethesda, Maryland where entrepreneurs can not only find the best mix of new business and pleasure, but also find a great place to live through integrated maps from Trulia.

Did your city make the list? Check out the feature here.

That list is wierd. The reasons for the different top cities are totally diverse and there is no consistency. Some cities have millions of people while others have 10,000 people. I think they should have narrowed down the criteria a little.

And Bellevue, Washington tops the list! No big surprise, given the amount of companies that have already launched in the general area: Microsoft, Amazon, and Starbucks are just a few of our local startups!

Seriously, Bellevue and Seattle’s Eastside are terrific places to live and work. We are surrounded by natural beauty here, mild weather, hiking, boating, and skiing opportunities. We are surrounded by water as you can see from the map above. We have terrific theater, great restaurants, and interesting neighborhoods.

I do have to wonder, though, when the study cites the sunny weather and the great commute! Sun is something we all adore because there are many so gray days and the commute is getting tougher. However, having lived in the Boston area for many years, I can attest to the fact that commuting in Beantown is far worse.

Here is my take on the news:

CNN Money rated Bainbridge Island, WA as the 2nd best place to live in the U.S. in 2005. For a small island of 20,000 residents, which is only a 35 minute ferry ride to downtown Seattle, we have some of the best schools in the Country, as well as a fastastic lifestyle.
