Celebrity Foreclosures: Where should they move?

Consumer Tips

With the recent political debates around tax breaks for the rich, we thought we’d feature a few richies that might not be doing so well as a reminder that well, rich people have feelings too.

Former King of Pop

No, not Justin Timberlake. In case you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard that Michael Jackson’s famous Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara, CA has been in foreclosure for months now and was nearly sent to auction this month. Somehow, Mr. Jackson has bought some time to find the measly $24,525,906 and 61 cents needed to cover his loan against the property, but still hasn’t settled on a place to live.

The Neverland Ranch

Neverland Ranch
Los Olivos, CA
Purchased for $30MM

But rather than flitting between comp’ed Las Vegas hotel rooms at The Palms, maybe he should check out some new pads. Here are our suggestions for a few more economical options.

Potential ‘Never-again’ Ranches

Option #1: With a 10,000 square foot lot for under $1MM, this is a steal and has plenty of room to rebuild if he gets on a guest tour with Justin.

Santa Barbara, CA
$825,000

Option #2: This 10-acre lot has impressive views and offers a bit more privacy than option #1…

Santa Barbara, CA
$1,139,000
