Thu, Nov 1, 2007

Industry

Sean Black (VP, Sales) was able to catch up with Ed Krafchow (President of Prudential California/Nevada/Texas Realty) to discuss the direction and growth strategy he has in place for his company.

With numerous years of experience in the real estate world, Ed has been able to
marry traditional real estate services and new technology. In doing so, Ed has
continually looked for and embraced new ideas that will help both his agents and
the home buyer.

As mentioned in Ed’s bio, he has been named “one of the real industry’s “Most
Influential People
” by Inman News. It is our pleasure to pick the brain of one of the
finest brokers and leaders in real estate today.

Ed makes some very strong points about Niche Media. Working in real estate marketing for the past 5 years or so I have seen firsthand how important it is for agents and brokers to really carve out their own niche and really go after those as opposed to being the “be all, cover all” agent / broker.

Hands down, I have seen more success stories from people who have found their niche, specialized in it and targeted all of their marketing (website, online marketing, print marketing, etc) on that specific niche.

A perfect example is a client of ours who used to be a Los Angeles Agent. This particular person was having a real, real hard time gaining business from their beautiful site that they put so much time into. After making some recommendations and a complete overhaul of their business plan and focus they decided to take the leap and become a niche real estate agent in a specific section of Los Angeles for a specific type of home buyer / seller.

There success was paramount compared to what they had previously experienced. I say, leave the general home buyer / seller to use these big great sites, like Trulia and focus instead on specific niches that people will be more comfortable using an agent for.
