As frequent Truliablog readers know, we regularly attend real estate and technology conferences around the country. More and more, I am being invited to speak at these conferences and being on that side of the microphone is rather interesting.
While many participants offer advice or insights on your presentations, you never really know if anyone in fact finds what you’re saying useful. It’s tough not to feel like you’re just a salesman hawking your wares. But recently, at the Real Trends conference, hosted by Steve Murray, something a little different happened.
During the Q&A session following my presentation, an agent stood up in the back of the room and, rather than ask a question, shared a real, honest-to-goodness story about her experience using Trulia Voices.
Not only did her story mix things up a bit, saving the audience from death by Powerpoint, it also said more about what we are trying to do at Trulia than anything I had said in the previous 20-minute presentation. After the session broke, I made my way over to meet my “co-presenter,” Realtor Maggie Mouscardy, and she kindly agreed to share her story here:
I joined Trulia Voices in August 2007 and it has been one of the best forums to help the consumer and link up with other real estate professionals! I’ve had such positive responses from my posts!
One consumer actually contacted me directly because of the ability to have our website posted on Trulia Voices, he was able to send me an email personally and asked me to do a Comparative Market Analysis. I not only sent him one within an hour of asking, but I put a full color package in the mail to him. He was ecstatic and impressed with the quick turn around!
Trulia Voices is a win-win for both consumers and REALTORS because we get to interact with one another, help each other and even have the satisfaction of knowing that we played a part in helping someone find a special place that they can call HOME!
Thanks for the excellent forum for us and the world!
Thanks for your insight Maggie! If you have stories to share about how Trulia is working for you, please let us know. We’d love to hear from you, too…
