Trulia Voices - 71 day pulse check

I mean, if we waited until the first 100 days, it would’ve been more dramatic…but that’s not really how we roll. Besides, we just pulled the data and it’s too good not to share.
For those of you that have never heard of Trulia–Trulia Voices is our social media platform, a forum where anyone can ask or answer questions about real estate.
For the rest of you, here are the findings:
- The average response time for a question is 20 minutes (I don’t know about you, but I don’t even email Pete back within 20 minutes…and he pays the bills)
- Each question receives an average of 3.2 responses (unless you are this question, or this question)
- 80% of questions come from consumers; 75% of answers come from RE professionals
- Hottest topics: home buying advice, market conditions and quality-of-life stuff
Anecdotally, we’ve heard from a number of agents that contributing on Trulia is proving worthwhile–real consumers are calling and networks are growing. I’ve yet to hear about a closed deal…so if you have one, email me and let me know (heather at trulia).
As for the consumers–the proof is in the pudding as they say, and we’ll continue to track Trulia Voices metrics on consumer adoption. We’re thrilled at the progress to date and expect the aggressive growth to continue.
Trulia Voices will no doubt look different 3 months and 6 months from now, as we respond and react to the community and your feedback on how to make it better. Keep the input coming.
See “official” press release here.

[…] I’m back at the office, missing all the fun at Inman Connect and only able to watch the blow by blow through the RE.net as everyone parties and parries, all of which has me thinking about the need for some long-term perspective. I’m reminded of childhood and the ads in comic books for see-through glasses. I need a pair of those now, only they need to see through all the hype. I often find myself getting caught up in every announcement, press release and blog entry, and worrying about what’s next. Yet, the truth is only told over time, and, even then, is fleeting at best. While one cannot ignore what others are doing, strategy cannot be reactive either. So, maybe I’m better off back at the office working on stuff our clients need, rather than partying at Connect. But, it sure does look like fun and I’d love to meet in person some of the bloggers I’ve met online over the last six months. Maybe next year. […]
