Where’s your personal retirement paradise?
A growing number of Baby Boomers are currently facing a turning point in their lives–whether that involves retirement or just opting out of the familiar “rat race” to pursue a fuller and more rewarding lifestyle. Sound familiar?
Barbara Corcoran is writing a guide on the yet undiscovered and unique places for Baby Boomers who are looking to move into the next chapter of their lives. She asked us for some help and is hoping that Trulia users (ie, you) answer her questions in this short survey to provide fodder for her upcoming book: “Great New Places to Start the Second Chapter of Your Life”. I’m looking forward to retiring in Panama, for numerous reasons. With Donald Trumps new luxury condos and the fact that they use the american dollar down there this spot cant be beat.

My idea of retirement heaven is Venice, Florida, on the Gulf of Mexico. Great, natural beaches and cute outdoor cafes, plus an affordable cost of living (rare for a seaside community). This is truly sandal weather - no pantyhose allowed!

Retire???? Most boomers have saved less than we had saved. Retire?? Where??? We have been retired 11 years and are running out of funds. That’s is what boomers face. Running out of money and not being able to pay for their supplemental insurance to MediCare. Getting old is a bitch unless you are Barbara Corcoran who has socked away gazillions in commissions on overpriced Manhattan Real Estate.
